Fourth of July Macarons

I made these macarons for the Fourth of July and they turned out so cute! The only bad thing I have to say about them is that they had so much food coloring in them that one bite would turn your whole mouth purple!

I dyed one batch of macarons blue, and another red, with Wilton food coloring gels. I then filled the macarons with a white chocolate whipped ganache frosting and decorated with red sanding sugar and Wilton’s Edible Accent Stars.

 

Fourth of July Macarons

For macaron recipe, follow the instructions for my St. Patricks Day Mint Chocolate Macarons. Just double the recipe and use blue and red food coloring instead of green. You can use the same recipe for the white chocolate ganache as well. Just replace the Andes chocolates with white chocolate!
